About me
Hi, welcome to my blog. My name is Thomas. I'm a senior iOS Engineer from Hamburg, Germany, with passion for all things digital and mobile as well as personal development. This blog is about sharing my journey to become a better developer and a more reflective and healthier person.
I want to learn something new everyday with the goal of improving myself professionally and personally. Like the name of this blog hints, I see my life as some kind of continous development process with myself as a prototype to work on. And I'm convinced, that the best way to learn something is by sharing gathered insights and knowledge with others. In case of this blog, this could be posts about best practises in Swift development, thoughts about technologies, reviews on books, reflections about personal stuff and many more things.
Bio, so far
In 2009 I started studying Media Technologies at the univerity of applied science in Emden. During the study I learned progamming and found my passion for mobile client development. After some experiments with Java, Python, Processing and PHP, I started mobile development for iOS with Objective-C. After graduation I found a job at my current employer appmotion, where I work now as a lead developer of a small iOS team. I switched from Obj-C to Swift with Swift 2.0 and used it since then in all of my client projects.
